How to Make Your House Smell Good Instantly

Every home will have a particular scent. But those living in it may not be aware of it. To create a good, distinct smell first you have to get rid of bad odours. If you want to make your house smell good instantly follow these tips.

Make your House Smell Good Instantly

  1. Make a stove simmer

Using herbs like mint or lavender and citrus slices you can create a sweet scent. Mix the above mentioned ingredients in water and let it   simmer on the stove for a while in a small saucepan. Your entire house will have a sweet smell when you start heating it. Just before a party you can use this trick.

  1. Make your own scent-filled jars

This makes for a great gift as this go in mason jars. Add ingredients like dried apples and cinnamon sticks to simmering water and pour the mixture in jars. Your house will have a sweet smell.

  1. Clean your garbage disposal

If bad odour is coming out of your sink there is an easy way to get rid of it. Take a lemon scented dish soap and try spritzing a dollop of it down into the disposal. Before turning it on run the water. Through the disposal you can also run lime or lemon rinds, followed by lots of water. If there is still foul smell, run warm water and pour in a 1/2 cup of baking soda.

  1. Place candles strategically

An easy way to make your home smell sweet is by lighting scented candles. They look great too and can add to the beauty of your interiors. Their efficiency can be increased if you follow some clever placement. There is no need to light all of them. You can place a few candles where you would least expect them to be. You can place scented candles in the linen closet, as clothes absorb the smell really fast. Every time you open the door you will get a nice surprise, and when you use the linens they will carry the aroma.

  1. Bring the outside in

To clean the air the best and easy thing to do is place indoor plants. And the best part is some of these plants have a sweet scent as well. You can try Arabian jasmine, corsage orchids, geraniums, gardenias, Cuban oregano and eucalyptus.

  1. Use car deodorizer on air vents

To a vent’s metal slats clip a car deodorizer. The scent will float right through the room as the air blows through.

  1. Turn on the oven

The smell of freshly baked bread, biscuits or cakes surpasses all other smells. You can have a baked dish on your menu when you have guests. To make your house smell yummylicious bake banana bread fills or cinnamon rolls.

  1. Outside the laundry room use dryer sheets

In your dressers and family's closets place a few sheets and the clothes will have a fresh smell.
