The holidays are almost here! We have been waiting for this most wonderful time of the year for so long, isn’t! But until your apartment looks the part it doesn’t truly start to feel like the holidays. Follow our guide to add holiday cheer to your apartment.

Christmas home decoration

String Some Lights

To start getting your apartment into the holiday spirit lights are a great way — you get a whole bunch of them, they are relatively cheap but they’re pretty. Plus, depending on how much you want to be able to see them you can put them wherever you like around your apartment as they’re pretty flexible. In your bedroom you can add some holiday cheer by stringing them over your bed, or up in your living room, or frame a doorway to maximize the exposure.

Put Up Stockings

To add some holiday cheer you can put up stockings in your apartment even if you don’t have a mantle. Hang them on the back of the couch, on the wall, or somewhere else in your home that needs a Christmas touch.

Get A Tree

There is no need for a big, expensive tree, but a fake one or a cute little one will get you in the Christmas spirit or add some holiday cheer to your apartment. But always place it somewhere you will see it often like in the living room or somewhere you’ll spend some time so that you can enjoy seeing your decorated Christmas tree.

Cue the Christmas Music

Make it feel like the holiday season whenever you’re home for the evening by playing Christmas music. You will find plenty of songs to add some holiday cheer to your apartment since so many different artists have covered so many songs. As you hangout, or do homework or go about making dinner, play Christmas music on low volume in the background to get you into the holiday spirit and put you in a Christmas mood.

By putting up garlands, wreaths, and mistletoe you can add even more holiday cheer to your apartment. For the holiday buy some scented candles in green and red with traditional Christmas scents and place them in the living room or anywhere you like. Bring home a throw blanket in Christmas-pattern or put a personal touch on your holiday decorating by doing some crafts.

Happy holidays!
