Some of these items have utility purpose while others will make your home more comfortable and improve its aesthetic appeal.

  1. A home without any art is sad and depressing. You don’t have to shell out a lot of money to bring art home. All you need is a postcard or you can reprint your favourite painting. You can even frame a lovely birthday card or pretty pictures from your science book. You can make your home more warm and personal by just hanging something on the walls.
  2. Greenery: A plant will light up any interior. Invest in a durable planter and indoor plant. Your home will look cosier.
  3. A comfy place to sit. Invest in a good chair. Your home is where you relax and unwind and a comfortable chair is a must.
  4. Everyone needs towels at home, and that too in different sizes. You need hand towels, bath towels, floor towels and kitchen towels.
  5. Basic utensils. Glasses, cups, plates, fork, knife, and spoon.
  6. An emergency light source. Any home will need this. You should have an inverter as well as matches, a flashlight and candles.
  7. A small toolset. A flat-head screwdriver, hammer, a head screwdriver, and pliers will be enough. They will come in handy during emergency situations. For instance, if you want to open a paint can, or fix a leaking pipe or hang a picture, etc.
  8. A bed and comfortable mattress are a must buy.
  1. A small cleaning kit. Even if you have a cleaning lady spills and mistakes happen. You need a broom, cloth and floor cleaning liquids to keep your rooms neat and tidy.
  2. An extra set of keys. Spare keys will come in handy and it will save you a lot of trouble. This is especially the case if you have the habit of misplacing things. You can leave an extra set at your parents’ house or near your door. In case you can’t find your primary keys you can use them.
